As always Viktor, you write from your heart and it show. I love the picture of the flags hanging together. We are fighting for the same thing, Democracy and love of our respective countries. I wish your were not living in such a horrible and terrifying isituation. I am not sure I would be able to but I would try. I would probably be the lady feeding the poor animals on the streets to help them as they could no help themselves very well. Love this newsubstact you created. Slava Ukraine

I fly a Ukraine flag and a Progress Pride flag. I don’t fly my Country’s flag because, in my eyes, it has been devalued by the Trump administration’s attacks on Transgender USAns and on immigrants. I do realize I could attempt to reclaim it by flying it, BUT to me it represents the Oppressor.

You should fly what feels right for you and I agree. Right ow I only have a flag representing Ukraine for the same reason you don't have the American flag> As an American I don't feel it is ready to be flown.

I fly the same flags, plus a Canadian flag. We took down our American flag on Inauguration day. We will fly it again when our people come tomorrow their senses. They are starting to.

I feel like the best way I can fight for Ukraine now is to fight for the soul of the US. There are politicians in both parties here who will support Ukraine. The one party needs to find their courage, and we can force them to choose the better path or lose their cushy political career. I grieve when I consider the first we might be able to help is early 2026, when (I hope) we swear in a new Congress, because I have some notion what that means for Ukrainians in the meantime.

I’ve thought about a Canadian flag, but find room for another pole is tricky. But good on ya, and elbows up!

Our friend in Michigan was concerned about that too. He didn't know what a yard flag is. I showed a Pic and now he has that in the yard. There are Ukrainian flags all over Detroit metro, as you might guess if you know the area.

If we refuse to fly our country's flag because of Trump, then we have let them claim they are the only "true Americans". But patriotism is more than just waving a flag; it’s how we live our lives and treat others, especially those who are different from ourselves, including ideological ideology.

Hardly . . . the flag is supposed to represent what the Country stands for. At the present moment the USA is but a mirage, a phantasm, a fading image of what it once stood for. Yes the flag is supposed to represent that ideal, but that’s lost (for now) . . . perhaps it can be recovered, but until then the flag will be folded and stored respectfully and safely waiting for the time when there is something—a Country—to proudly represent. My Father’s Flag and decorations are still on the memorial shelf in my Hale, but until we can be proud of our Country her flag needs a respectful rest away from the embarrassment she’s been subjected to.

The American people stand with Ukraine. Unfortunately, the American President stands with Russia because he wants to be just like Putin. Slava Ukraini. God Bless America

You are absolutely right! We are both fighting against dictatorship. Of course no one wants the genocide going on in Palestine or a war with Iran, but those are actually different issues than what you are battling in Ukraine. And people need to realize that Ukranian people are getting BOMBED daily and trying to stay alive......so your first focus should be on Ukranians only. And you interact with the USA only to give us courage and support while we are trying not to end up with bloodshed in our streets over impending dictatorships. I know in your heart that you support all humanity without you having to express it. It is absolutely obvious in the character of your writings.

I support you!

Viktor, you stated it very clearly. We are fighting the same pair of dictators who are conspiring to destroy Ukraine as an independent nation, and Russia's involvement and manipulation in our last election process put Trump in power. Trump owes Putin, admires his total control and domination, and fancies himself Putin's equal. What a fool. Meanwhile, he is destroying our democracy. We will continue to fight beside you. But sadly, what is happening here isn't just Trump. The plan created to destroy America has been decades in the making and is called Project 2025. Keep fighting, you are truly NOT ALONE. Your honesty always makes me cry. And if anyone is aware of history, it would be you and the a Ukrainian people. Our problem as Americans is that our history is so short and we know only the “high” moments and refuse to face the realities of its causes and results. It has made us lazy thinkers and unappreciative of the deep complexities of world history. But national struggle is important to the human spirit.

We must all understand that community deserves to be understood and open to others.

Hello Viktor. We all have different perspectives. What you will probably, eventually come to see (or maybe not, and that is ok too), is that the invasion of Ukraine by Putin and the invasion of Palestine by Netanyahu have a common objective: To eradicate a people. The only difference is that there were no actions on the part of Ukrainians that could be used as an excuse to invade. In the case of Palestine, there was the terrorist attack of Hamas. But we should not equal Hamas with Palestine. That would be like equaling the gang Mara13 with the whole country of El Salvador, for example. Or Mexican drug gangs with all of Mexico. I wholeheartedly believe that if, somehow, these three men: Putin, Netanyahu and Trump, could disappear from the face of the Earth, half of the Earth's problems would disappear too. Millions of people are trying to do the best they can to redress the situation. Their actions might seem like drops in the ocean, but I am hopeful that they will eventually bear fruit. And I am profoundly thankful for everything you write. We can disagree sometimes, but your words always warm my heart. Slava Ukraini!
